Cetrulo LLP Associate Denis F. Alia was a speaker on the Young Lawyer panel discussion at DRI’s Product Liability Conference 2020 in New Orleans. In his presentation, Denis addressed the statute of repose and the nuances in its applicability, including the differences between the improvement to real property and construction statute of repose; the constitutionality of the statute in various jurisdictions; the extent of protections afforded to various defendants depending on their involvement in a particular project (i.e. unique designer v. supplier of generic product); and, case examples highlighting jurisdictional differences in the statute’s application.
