Zachary focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and post-grant proceedings. He has experience in a variety of technology areas including image and signal processing, wired and wireless telecommunication, radar, semiconductor devices, electronic device testing, embedded systems, geo-positioning, security systems, non-destructive testing technologies and software. His familiarity with a wide breadth of electrical engineering and computer science technologies allows him to contribute immediately to a project whether a technology is only now ready for patenting, a pending application, or in post grant proceedings.
Dr. Thomas’s experience also includes patent strategy, portfolio management, IP licensing, and patentability and freedom to operate studies. He has worked both in firm and corporate settings and has experience helping clients balance conflicting objectives, such as the desire for broad patent protection, maintaining trade secrets, and budget constraints.
In addition to his IP related practice, Dr. Thomas also has experience drafting and reviewing contracts, terms and conditions, managing export control issues, and familiarity with government contracting.
Dr. Thomas’s professional experience includes work as a vice president and patent counsel at JENTEK Sensors, Inc., Waltham, MA.
